Co-ordinate the heights of ventilation and suspended ceiling at an early stage.
Ventilation ducts, mixer boxes and other ventilation system equipment require space above the suspended ceiling. Co-ordination between the height of the suspended ceiling and the ventilation must be carefully considered early in the design stage. Information about the overall depth of the system and the minimum height for demountability are given under section Functional Demands, chapter Accessibility.

The ventilation ducts must always be hung from the structural ceiling. They must not impose a load on the suspended ceiling.

Once the ceiling grid system is in place, small adjustments to the ducting can be made and the grilles fitted. Lateral adjustment seldom presents any difficulty.
