Master D with Z-profile - demountable direct installation

A ceiling where every single tile is demountable, with minimum overall depth of system, concealed grid and still achieves absorption class A – does that exist?
- Yes it does!
Installation with profiles is crucial for demountability and often preferable because:
  • time can be saved due to fewer fixings
  • the affect of unevenness is limited
  • individual tiles are easily exchanged
The main difference between installing a direct ceiling and a suspended one is that the distance between the profiles must be measured more precisely (there is no Space bar in place to determine the distance) and Stop Clips cannot be used to keep the tiles in position.
Direct fixing of Ecophon Master D is carried out with Connect Z-profile 0227 which is fixed using Connect Fixing plate 0214 in accordance with Installation diagram M193. This gives a total construction height for Master D of approximately 55mm. The same installation method can be used for Focus D, which will give a total depth of system of approximately 35 mm.

Solutions and advice about ceiling design and how the ceiling is integrated to different interfaces.

Ceiling integration

Many technical services are located in the ceiling area and must satisfy both aesthetics and function. Co-ordination of details must take place early in the design stage.
