Office room with movable partitions

An office should offer a place for meetings and work that requires a high level of concentration. This means the right type of light and good acoustics are important when designing offices. Flexible cellular offices often use movable partitions which will mean that the sound insulating properties of the acoustic ceiling also needs to be considered.

Acoustics
  • Today’s offices are generally lightly furnished, which puts extra demand on the acoustic performance of the ceiling.
  • Telephone communication is sensitive to the acoustic conditions in the room.
  • Recessed light fittings must meet the same standards for sound insulation as the surrounding ceiling. Other flanking transmissions, i.e. sound that takes a route other than through the walls, should also be taken into account.
Ecophon's suggestion
  • Reverberation time 0.5 s or less. Highest value 250 - 4000 Hz. 125 Hz: 20% higher value permitted. Corresponds to 90% of floor surface covered with Absorption Class A (according to EN ISO 11654).
    Product recommendation
    • Ecophon Master with Master XR to achive high level of sound absorption in combination with the right level of privacy for office work.
